The Tri-County Cavaliers will challenge the Clinton Central Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Tri-County's favor as the team sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Clinton Central has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Tri-County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Seeger with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Grace Luck and Bella Dominguez did most of the damage at the plate: Luck went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Dominguez got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Luck has posted since back in April of 2024. Lauren Bledsoe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clinton Central). Everything went their way against Eastern on Thursday as they made off with a 20-10 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Nuriah Harvey spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Carly Davison was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Richie, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and four RBI.
Clinton Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Clinton Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Tri-County, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
Tri-County took their victory against Clinton Central when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 12-3 score. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
