Softball Recap: Decatur Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Decatur entered their tilt with Cassopolis on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 18-7 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-3 on Monday.

Sienna Potter and Jenna Bradford did most of the damage at the plate: Potter got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Bradford went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Bradford a new career-high. Another player making a difference was MiKayla Dierickx, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Decatur was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Decatur's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Cassopolis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
