Basketball Game Preview: Central Lions vs. Griffin Bears

The Central Lions will venture away from home to face off against the Griffin Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Griffin will be up against a hot Central team: the squad just extended their winning streak to nine. Central claimed a resounding 68-22 victory over Northside. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Patriots are ranked 306th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Griffin's way against Starr's Mill on Wednesday as Griffin made off with a 64-44 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Griffin is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Central, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Central didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Griffin when the teams last played on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
