Basketball Recap: Salem Seminoles vs. Columbia Eagles
Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Columbia Eagles 60-21. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seminoles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-16 back in December of 2024.
Deasia Kelly was the offensive standout of the game as she posted nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Aalon Turner, who had nine points and three steals.
Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Columbia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will welcome Drew Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they will challenge Lithonia at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
