Seventy-First had won seven straight games and Jayson Franklin did his part to make it eight on Friday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Westover Wolverines with a sharp 36-13 victory thanks in part to Franklin, who rushed for 180 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and one touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made three total tackles.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Seventy-First's defense and their nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Xaiveon Gear and A'Zaylan Parish, who racked up six sacks between them. Gear is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season. Camden Graham was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Seventy-First's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Westover, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Franklin and Cristian Simmons. Meanwhile, Westover is set to challenge their familiar foe E.E. Smith at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
