Volleyball Recap: Mullen Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

There's no place like home for Mullen, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Smoky Hill Buffaloes on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Mullen walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-20, 25-21.

Mullen's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Milli Mares, who had 14 assists and four digs. Mares has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last five times she's played. Braylee Shatley was another key player, getting nine digs and three assists.

Mullen is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Smoky Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Mullen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Cherokee Trail on the 23rd. As for Smoky Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Arapahoe on the 23rd.
