Emerald is 8-1 against Berea since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Emerald Vikings will take on the Berea Bulldogs in a tournament on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Emerald took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Ninety Six by a score of 40-28.

Emerald's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jurnee Williams led the charge by going 6 of 14 on her way to 17 points and five steals. Williams is becoming a predictor of Emerald's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ketorey Brown, who posted seven points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Berea beat Carolina Academy 41-36 on Thursday.

Berea has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Emerald, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Emerald against Berea in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, as the squad secured an 81-24 victory. Does Emerald have another victory up their sleeve, or will Berea turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
