Basketball Recap: Boerne Gets the Win

On Tuesday, the Boerne Greyhounds escaped with a win against the Smithson Valley Rangers by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greyhounds.

Boerne's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julien Hartman, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Hartman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cash McPeak, who put up ten points.

Boerne's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Smithson Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Boerne will challenge Boerne-Champion at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Boerne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season. As for Smithson Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pieper at 6:30 p.m. Pieper will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Smithson Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
