Basketball Recap: Legacy Longhorns vs. Eldorado Firehawks
Legacy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 56.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They breezed by the Eldorado Firehawks to the tune of 80-13. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Firehawks are ranked 83rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alabama Nieves, who went 12 for 19 en route to 29 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Nieves has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Gines, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals.
