Basketball Recap: Ada Comes Up Short

Ada was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 53-45 to the Idabel Warriors. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ada lost, don't look at Brock Boyles. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Those 15 points gave Boyles a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miilan Riley, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Ada's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Idabel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Ada wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-40 win against Hugo on the 1st. As for Idabel, they will take on Broken Bow at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Idabel will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
