Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Red Hook

Red Hook proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 19) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Taconic Hills Titans 8-7. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered an 11-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Luca Friedman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Friedman was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Huber, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Red Hook pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Hook will face off against Pine Plains at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Taconic Hills, they will venture away from home to face off against Germantown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Titans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
