Softball Recap: Willard Crimson Flashes vs. Crestview Cougars
Willard extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-19 in the process. They came up short against the Crestview Cougars, falling 21-0. The Crimson Flashes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2017.
As for Crestview, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.
For Crestview's part, the team relied heavily on PJ Endicott, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most runs Endicott has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Hillman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Willard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crestview, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 win against St. Paul on the 16th.
