Softball Recap: Pinellas Park Has No Trouble Against Indian Rocks Christian

Pinellas Park's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles 17-5. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Ayanah Wilson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Danielle Overman was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Bella Birge was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Pinellas Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Pinellas Park back to even at 2-2. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Pinellas Park will take on Canterbury in a tournament on Saturday. Pinellas Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will host Tarpon Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Indian Rocks Christian has given up an average of 18.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
