Football Recap: Isaac Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead American Canyon over St. Vincent De Paul + How To Watch

If American Canyon was riding high fresh off their 58-7 takedown of Wood last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolves took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs on Saturday. The Wolves were up 21-7 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

American Canyon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Anderson, who rushed for 96 yards and one score on only 12 carries. Evan Paras got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

St. Vincent de Paul's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gabe Casanovas led the charge by rushing for 79 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 162 yards and a pair of TDs. Another player making a difference was Mason Caturegli, who gained 115 total yards and two touchdowns.

American Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

American Canyon has already played their next match, a 28-9 victory against Benicia on the 12th. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 61-0 win against Lowell on the 13th.
