Football Recap: Saugus Beats Calabasas for Their Sixth Straight Win + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saugus walked away with it. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Calabasas Coyotes 28-27. The win almost wasn't to be: the Centurions were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Ty Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 162 yards and four scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.5 rushing yards per game. Saugus also got help from Landon Lattimore, who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.

Despite the defeat, Calabasas had strong showings from Kayne Miller, who rushed for 199 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and Dominik Hardy, who threw for 188 yards and one touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes. Hardy's passing game has become a key predictor of the Coyotes' success: the team is 5-2 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Saugus, bringing their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.7 points over those games. As for Calabasas, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Saugus has already played their next matchup, a 21-7 defeat against Apple Valley on the 21st. Calabasas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
