Softball Recap: Rock Island Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

While Rock Island put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Sterling. The Rocks were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Golden Warriors. The Rocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Lilly McDaniel's shutout, as she gave up just two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on AJ Lincoln, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Leahy, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Rock Island hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Rock Island has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sterling, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Rock Island didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 victory against Alleman on the 30th. As for Sterling, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against East Moline United on the 1st.
