Softball Recap: Winthrop Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winthrop lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Maine Central Institute, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Ramblers put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 16-9 win on Thursday. 16 seems to be a good number for the Ramblers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The win was the third in a row for Winthrop, bringing their record up to 3-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Maine Central Institute, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
