Basketball Recap: Oak Ridge Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oak Ridge won the last time they faced McMinn County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 55-46 victory over the Cherokees. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Cherokees are ranked 313th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

With the win, Oak Ridge broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-13. As for McMinn County, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-22.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Oak Ridge will square off against rival Hardin Valley Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, McMinn County is set to take on their familiar foe Rhea County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
