Recap: Davis Darts vs. Syracuse Titans
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post nine more assists than your opponent, a fact the Davis Darts proved on Friday. They walked away with a 64-52 victory over Syracuse. That's another feather in the cap for Davis, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Davis to victory were Ike Morgan and Coleman Atwater. Morgan scored 13 points along with three steals, while Atwater scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Atwater is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jt Turley, who scored 11 points.
Syracuse lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joshua Godfrey, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Terik Hamblin, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Davis has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Syracuse, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davis will challenge Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington is on a five-game streak of home wins, Davis a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Syracuse, they will head out on the road to square off against Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
