Football Recap: Kinston Piles Up the Points Against North Moore

With a playoff win on the line, Kinston rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 53-7 win over the North Moore Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Kinston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Jones, who threw for 295 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Those seven passing touchdowns gave Jones a new career-high. Brennan Chambers was Jones' top target, picking up 101 receiving yards and four TDs.

Kinston didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christian Ham and Ex'Zavion Croom. Croom also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15.

Kinston has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.2 points over those games. As for North Moore, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Kinston nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
