Recap: Shakamak Lakers vs. Edgewood Mustangs
The Shakamak Lakers lost against the Edgewood Mustangs back in December of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Shakamak took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edgewood. It was the first time this season that Shakamak let down their fans at home.
Edgewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carl Norris, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Norris also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Jacob Boggs was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Shakamak's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for Edgewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shakamak will face off against Barr-Reeve at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Barr-Reeve will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Edgewood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brown County at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
