Baseball Game Preview: Marcos de Niza Padres vs. Saguaro Sabercats

Marcos de Niza is 0-10 against Saguaro since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Padres will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sabercats at 3:45 p.m. Marcos de Niza will be strutting in after a win while Saguaro will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Marcos de Niza was able to grind out a solid victory over Goldwater, taking the game 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Padres in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Saguaro came up short against Chaparral on Monday, falling 10-4. The Sabercats have struggled against the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Jake Claver was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Saguaro's loss dropped their record down to 11-10-1. As for Marcos de Niza, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Marcos de Niza suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Saguaro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Padres avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
