Basketball Recap: Ragland Comes Up Short

Ragland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 77-52 to the Coosa Christian Conquerors. The Purple Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Conquerors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.

Coosa Christian found their leader in sophomore Jaxon Peek, who posted 32 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peek has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dj Mackey, who put up 14 points and eight rebounds.

Ragland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Coosa Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Ragland and Ranburne will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Coosa Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Donoho at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
