Wakefield put their dominant defense on display in the team's 16th consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 41-0 win over the Athens Drive Jaguars. Considering the Wolverines have won 16 matchups by more than 19 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wakefield found their leader in sophomore Quinn Pope, who threw for 234 yards and six touchdowns while completing 90% of her passes. Lyla Bagwell did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.

Wakefield's victory bumped their record up to 19-0. As for Athens Drive, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wakefield will take on rival Leesville Road at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolverines 0.6, the Pride 6.1) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Athens Drive is set to challenge their familiar foe Rolesville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
