ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. - Brandon Mills ran for two touchdowns and Sebastian Franck-love added two as well as Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) beat Palos Verdes Peninsula (Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.) 41-6 on Saturday.

A big 63-point second quarter helped the Manhattan Beach school secure the win. The Mustangs scored on a touchdown pass by Briskin to Morrow, a touchdown run by Franck-love, a Franck-love touchdown run and a touchdown run by Mills in the quarter.

Palos Verdes Peninsula's only touchdown came on a 90-yard kick return by Rory Hubbard in the second quarter.

Coming into the game Mira Costa had allowed 27.1 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Panthers well below their season average of 33.0 points scored per game.

A 42-28 Mira Costa victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The win was a nice bounce back for the Mustangs, who lost to Palos Verdes last week, 35-0. The defeat comes as a step back for Palos Verdes Peninsula, which notched a 38-0 victory over Leuzinger in its previous outing.

Palos Verdes Peninsula (4-4) will play a Bay game against West next week, while Mira Costa (5-3) will take on Leuzinger also in a Bay game.
