Softball Recap: Bryant Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mobile Christian

Bryant scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Mobile Christian Leopards by a score of 10-9. The Hurricanes just can't catch a break and have now endured ten defeats in a row.

Madelyn Ladnier made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ida Wright also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Bryant hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Bryant's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Mobile Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bryant will square off against Saraland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saraland's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Bryant's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mobile Christian, they will challenge Ponchatoula at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ponchatoula is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
