Recap: Castleberry Lions vs. Decatur Eagles
The Castleberry Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight loss. They were beaten by Decatur 78-2. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Castleberry has scored all season.
Leading Decatur to victory were Hope Escobar and Lilly Hudson. Escobar scored ten points along with seven steals, while Hudson scored 13 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hudson has scored all season. Reese Christian was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Castleberry has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 18 of their last 20 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-22 record this season. As for Decatur, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 26-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castleberry will square off against the Bullfrogs at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Lake Worth is on an eight-game streak of home losses, the Lions a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Decatur, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Krum is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
