Softball Recap: Weston Takes a Loss

Weston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Pomperaug Panthers. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Weston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alice Sullivan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Francesca Gary also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Weston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Pomperaug, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Weston will challenge rival New Milford at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, Pomperaug is set to square off against their familiar foe Joel Barlow at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
