Recap: Columbia Academy Cougars vs. Woodlawn Prep Wolfpack

The Columbia Academy Cougars's game on Saturday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Woodlawn Prep 48-43. Columbia Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodlawn Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played two weeks ago.

Leading Woodlawn Prep to victory were Braylon Reed and Cole Sinclair. Reed scored 13 points, while Sinclair scored 18 points. The match was Reed's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jack Carney, who scored seven points.

Columbia Academy bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Woodlawn Prep, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bowling Green at 7:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024. After both having extra time off, Woodlawn Prep and Prentiss Christian will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Prentiss Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
