Volleyball Recap: Bay Port Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Bay Port had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Neenah Rockets on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.

The win didn't come easy: Neenah scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21.

Alexia Stephens paced Bay Port's offense, picking up seven kills. Stephens got some help from Meghan Bruss and her 17 assists. Bruss also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Taylor Russell, racking up two apiece.

Bay Port wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Luxemburg-Casco on the 26th. Neenah has also already played their next match (against Notre Dame Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
