Volleyball Recap: Benton Rangers vs. DuQuoin Indians

Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the DuQuoin Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.

While Benton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.

Leading DuQuoin to victory were Love Dunklin and Aleiya King. Dunklin had ten digs, while King had four digs. Dunklin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for DuQuoin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Benton will challenge Anna-Jonesboro at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for DuQuoin, they will face off against Pinckneyville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
