Montclair Kimberley Academy took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against Montclair, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mounties 5-4. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Montclair Kimberley Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Montclair, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
