Basketball Recap: Teutopolis Victorious

Teutopolis posted their closest victory since December 27, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Champaign Central Maroons, sneaking past 54-51. For the Wooden Shoes, this counts as revenge for the 51-36 win the Maroons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2019.

Despite the loss, Champaign Central still got an impressive performance from Chris Bush, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Aidyn Beck, who went 6 for 15 en route to 13 points.

Teutopolis' victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Champaign Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Teutopolis will challenge Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Champaign Central, they will square off against MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Champaign Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.
