Baseball Recap: Bishop Carroll Takes a Loss

Bishop Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Central Cambria Red Devils, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Bishop Carroll saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Gillin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Cory Franceschini was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Bishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Central Cambria, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Carroll will welcome Somerset at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerset will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Bishop Carroll surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central Cambria, they will square off against Forest Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
