Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Meridian walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Christiansburg Blue Demons on Friday. The result was nothing new for Meridian, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Christiansburg from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Amin Shams led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meridian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 84 goals over those 15 matches. As for Christiansburg, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-4.

Meridian didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Western Albemarle on the 14th. Christiansburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
