Softball Recap: Galena Comes Up Short

Galena managed to slip by Morrison the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pirates lost 14-4 to the Mustangs on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Pirates have suffered since May 16, 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Galena and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Morrison, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Galena will square off against East Dubuque at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morrison, they will head out to take on Polo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
