Basketball Recap: South Fort Myers Find Success

Community School of Naples came into Thursday's match looking for another win against South Fort Myers, but Mariah Thorne wouldn't allow it. The South Fort Myers Wolfpack sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 win over the Community School of Naples Seahawks on Thursday thanks in part to Thorne, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Fort Myers' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Keylin Lavariega, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

South Fort Myers' record is now 11-12. As for Community School of Naples, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

South Fort Myers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-41 defeat against Golden Gate on the 31st. Community School of Naples has also already played their next game (against Mason Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
