Baseball Preview: Salome Frogs vs. Bagdad Sultans
Salome is 0-10 against Bagdad since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit in Tuesday's first game. The Salome Frogs will head out on the road to face off against the Bagdad Sultans at 3:00 p.m.
Salome lost a close one when they played on Thursday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Saturday was a bit more commanding. They fell victim to a tough 10-3 defeat at the hands of Duncan. Salome has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bagdad ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Gilbert Christian. The win was just what Bagdad needed coming off of a 15-2 loss in their prior game.
Aaron Landers was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Salome's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Bagdad, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 17-1-1 record this season.
Salome might still be hurting after the 18-3 loss they got from Bagdad in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can Salome avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
