Football Game Preview: East Bladen Eagles vs. Union Spartans

East Bladen is a perfect 3-0 against Union since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will host the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. East Bladen's defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Union's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Union will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: East Bladen extended their winning streak to three back in October. The Eagles took their contest with ease, bagging a 38-0 win over the Spartans. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Bladen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dashon Campbell, who rushed for 63 yards and a pair of scores. Campbell is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jaden Lewis was another key rusher, rushing for 73 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: East Bladen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in 14 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

East Bladen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Lewis was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. East Bladen received some extra help from Julius Battle, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

East Bladen's record is now 7-3. As for Union, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-8.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Lewis and Tobias Cromartie. Lewis just won't slow down this season and has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 120.5 rushing yards per game. Cromartie has been a dominant force too and has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 145.5 rushing yards per game.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. East Bladen has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 292.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging 190 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
