Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Great Bridge's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Kecoughtan typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Great Bridge proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Bailey Bliven spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, Great Bridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Curtis, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Hannah Ferrell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Great Bridge has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Kecoughtan, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

Great Bridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Tuesday.
