Softball Recap: Midland Rebels vs. Lafayette Christian Academy Knights
After flying high against Carencro on Monday, Midland came back down to earth. The Rebels came up short against the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights on Tuesday, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in March.
Ainsley Staffford led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Credeur, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Midland has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9.
Looking ahead, Midland will head out to face off against Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Lake Arthur at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
