Basketball Recap: Tamya Morgan and Aubree Hines Secure Win for Bellaire

Bellaire won the last time they faced St. Clairsville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Big Reds put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 55-30 victory. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for the Big Reds this season.

Leading Bellaire to victory were Aubree Hines and Tamya Morgan. Hines shot 69% from the field to rack up 24 points and five boards, while Morgan went 6-for-14 en route to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The game was Hines' third in a row with at least 17 points. Kayla Edgar was another key player, putting up three points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Bellaire smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Bellaire's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for St. Clairsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
