Baseball Game Preview: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Eldorado Sundevils

For the second straight game, Desert Pines will face off against Eldorado. The Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sundevils at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Desert Pines is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Eldorado on Tuesday. They fell 6-1 to the Sundevils. The Jaguars have struggled against the Sundevils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

For Eldorado's part, Armando Quiroz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Terry Cruz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Sabino Sanchez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Eldorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win snapped Eldorado's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-8 record. As for Desert Pines, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
