Softball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. Bushland Falcons

Tulia hasn't had much luck against Bushland recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Tulia will welcome Bushland at 4:30 p.m. Tulia has given up an average of 14.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tulia is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They lost 21-1 to Canadian.

Meanwhile, Bushland entered their tilt with Childress on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bobcats 11-1. That's two games straight that the Falcons have won by exactly ten runs.

Farryn McKown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-2. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Charley Spinks was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Addison Appier was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Bushland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Childress only posted a batting average of .222.

Bushland's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Tulia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.
