The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Grizzlies came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Scots are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, Granada had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 14-7. That's two games straight that the Matadors have won by exactly seven points.

The critical scores for Granada came from Isabelle Dunn and Marin Lnenicka.

California's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Granada, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

California didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Granada in their previous meeting back in September, but they still walked away with an 18-12 win. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Matadors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
