Football Recap: Eustis Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Eustis faced off against Foundation Academy on Friday. The Panthers received a blow as they fell 26-7 to the Lions. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Jackson Currie threw for 110 yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Foundation Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Wood, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of scores. Another pass catcher making a difference was Noah McMullen, who picked up 62 receiving yards and two TDs.

Eustis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Foundation Academy, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Eustis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 65-6 loss against Tavares on the 26th. As for Foundation Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Lions will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
