Basketball Game Preview: Westland Hialeah Wildcats vs. Killian Cougars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Westland Hialeah Wildcats duke it out with the Killian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday... The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Tuesday, Westland Hialeah lost to Pinecrest Prep at home by a 57-42 margin.

Meanwhile, Killian played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Varela and fell 75-45. The Cougars were down 61-35 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Westland Hialeah will have to contain Christian Torres as he made an impact in Killian's last game. He went 7 of 16 on his way to 21 points and five boards. Torres' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Matthew Gonzalez was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 10 points.

Westland Hialeah's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11. As for Killian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Westland Hialeah ended up a good deal behind Killian when the teams last played back in December of 2022, losing 59-41. Thankfully for Westland Hialeah, Jermaine Roper (who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists) won't be suiting up this time.
