Softball Recap: El Camino Comes Up Short

El Camino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-2 to the South San Francisco Warriors. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

El Camino saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mahealani Keahi, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Keahi has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Patricia Vasquez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for South San Francisco, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

El Camino and South San Francisco will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time El Camino sees the field they'll take on Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on April 7. As for South San Francisco, their break will end when they face Mercy at 4:00 p.m. on April 7.
