Basketball Recap: Heath Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Heath, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Newark Catholic Green Wave 50-27 on Saturday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Heath's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxon Duston, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. That's the most boards Duston has posted since back in January of 2024. Jordan Kaminsky was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and five boards.

Heath was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newark Catholic only racked up seven assists.

Despite the loss, Newark Catholic still got an impressive performance from Dylan Daube, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Daube has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Miller Hutchison was another key player, posting four points and nine boards.

Heath pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points per game. As for Newark Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Heath will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northridge at 7:15 p.m. Heath is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. As for Newark Catholic, they will head out to take on Utica at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Newark Catholic also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 51.6 points per game.
