Douglas is a perfect 10-0 against Reed since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Douglas will take on Reed in a tournament on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
If Douglas beats Reed with 18 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went Douglas' way against Dayton on Friday as Douglas made off with an 18-1 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Camryn McLelland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. McLelland was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Douglas got a massive performance out of Annie Hill, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Hill has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Marissa McLelland was another key player, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4.
Douglas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dayton only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, Reed entered their tilt with River Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 11-5 win.
Jaelee Hammes was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elana Torres, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Douglas' victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Reed, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-2.
Reed's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Douglas has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Reed, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Douglas keep running through batters, or will Reed buck the trend?
Douglas beat Reed 12-9 in their previous meeting on March 4th. Will Douglas repeat their success, or does Reed has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
